The begining 38 years ago...We created Minerals France Australia on 9 June 1979. Our passion started in Australia and when we arrived in France at the end of year 78 we decided to make it our profession. They were first of all a cramped workshop and a tiny shop, but we were already receiving many visitors who came to admire our minerals, fine and precious stones from all over the world. Throughout these years, we have participated in numerous mineralogical exhibitions, among others those of Paris or that of Munich.
Workshop visits Discovering an art craftIn 1982, in front of the passionate interest of the visitors and the mineralogical clubs, we organized guided tours of the workshops and the different phases of the size of a stone. The guided tour ( by appointment ) allows us to understand how these raw and shapeless materials make the shimmering facets that give everything Its brilliance to the stone.
The Taillerie de Nîmes 1989: creation of the Taillerie de NîmesIn 1989, a beautiful stone building came to replace the makeshift workshops. The building now consists of a large exhibition hall where minerals and precious stones shine, including a fabulous collection of opals. A reception hall for the comfort of visitors, offices and the main workshop complete this wing of the building. In the other we built a laboratory of identification of the stones and a faceting workshop..
The renown A privileged appointment for mineralogical visitsSince 38 years, we have seen an increasing number of tourists arriving, first from our region, then from all of France. Little by little, the Taillerie de Nîmes has gained a reputation that surpasses our borders, since in recent years we have received a large number of foreign tourists.
The website 2001 in the wind...Following the boom in new technologies and more precisely e-business, in 2000 we decided to launch La Taillerie de Nîmes in the 21st century. This was our e-commerce website witch evolved between time. Our website is both commercial and documentary. It allows amateurs to buy with the assurance of our reputation.
Succession ! 2012, the succession year Immersed in the world of mineralogy and gemmology since the creation of the business in 1979, Cendrine Brown took over to continue her parents artwork with passion.
